    In regards to your combo class, make sure you have some
    independent activities. The math should correlate fairly
    well. Review and teach 5th grade math first, get them
    started on worksheet and then extend into higher level math
    for 6th and then give them worksheet. When you have 6th
    working on math sheet, pull 5th grade for their Social
    Studies and Language Arts lesson. These will correlate if
    you are using Houghton Mifflin. As they are working on
    practice book and writing, then pull 6th grade and do the
    same for them. Science is a little tricky. I usually try
    to look for similar topics. If I can't, then have one do
    experiments in small group and teach the other group. Hope
