The easiest way to do this is to teach the class group as a whole
and simply alternate your lessons/units year by year. For
instance if the class was a multiage class of 3rd/4th grade aged
students, teach the 4th grade music curriculum the 1st year the the
3rd grade music curriculum the 2nd year. During the 3rd year go
back to the 3rd grade curriculum and so forth. The reason that
this works is that for the most part students stay with the same
multiage classroom for multiple years and thus don't end up having
to repeat curriculum. There is still a bit of adjusting that needs
to be done, but not much more than what needs to be done based on
the changes from year to year of single-grade classroom groups.
