I'm opening up a 2/3 Multiage classroom this week as a brand new teacher, straight out of the credential program. With the new shift to Common Core standards, what does reading instruction look like? Can my whole class read the same text, and if yes, what scaffolds do I provide to my lower readers? What fun activities can I do during reading instruction that are related to Common Core?
jojo I would suggest looking into the daily 5 and CAFE. Together they are a system of time management and reading skills that allow you to meet your students at whatever reading level they are at.

I teach in a split grade k-8 class and I would have died without it.
