    Ohio, huh? Darn!

    If he really does sound like a robot, with no pitch differentiation
    that you can identify, I would suggest sending him to a speech
    therapist.

    If you and he work together, you might also have him differentiate
    the spoken word through energy levels. Softly murmuring so as not
    to disrupt the teacher vs yelling, "Hey, you! Get your hands off my
    bike!" for example.
