My fourth and fifth grade choirs, when I had them, wore dark
pants and skirts with white shirts. We actually had choir moms
make simple vests out of denim material. A local embroiderer
did the school mascot (dolphins) on the front of the vest.
They looked really nice. We did small, med, large, and kept
them to be worn by future choir students each year.
I really think the type of school you have and the settings in
which you will perform should determine how
formal/professional you look. At that time, our group sang at
a lot of community events and at festivals. We had a lot of
parent involvement, too.
