My mom is retired from teaching music in high school, and I
remember very clearly when she went to the doctor and discovered
that she had nodes. She had to STOP talking for 6 months. I
remember not completely understanding why she couldn't talk, but
she did very well with it. Asking her about it later, she says
she let her students know what she was having to do and why, and
she was able to continue teaching effectively for the full time.
(She also says it changed and even improved her teaching.)
The only reason I say all this is to point out just how long it
took for her to recuperate. You might need to do more than rest
your voice for a few days.
Good luck! It's so frustrating to feel that you can't use your
voice properly, and even more so when the problem persists..
