I'm a new elementary music teacher, but I have 2 suggestions:
1) Chick-fil-A has "spirit nights" in our area, where you can
come in for 2 hours and anyone from the school who buys food
during those 2 hours, you get a portion of the funds. (In my
area, it's about $200 per spirit night.)
2) donorschoose.org is awesome. I have gotten over $1000
worth of materials from them...for free! You just post your
request and, if people fund it, you have to do 3 things:
write a letter of thanks, take pics of the students using the
resource, and have some students write thank you notes. Then
the resources are yours...for free! (I just got a free
boombox for my Making Music curriculum...)
