My favorite to do was a program about rain and rainbows. Almost all the
songs came from Silver Burdett including "La Tormenta Tropical" (sp?)
in Spanish, and one octavo, I can't remember the name of but it was so
pretty and included a section of rain sound effects (clicking, clapping,
etc). They danced to "I don't care if the rain oomes down", and did a
ribbon routine with "I can sing a rainbow". Just writing about it makes
me want to do it again. lol
Another fun one used "what do animals need' as the theme song and sang
several other songs about animals and their habitats. Dance: Lots of
worms" and some cute cajun crocodile song, I see rabbit footprints in
the snow,
I am thinking about doing a black history thing with my 3rd graders in
April. - Pick a bale of cotton, Wade in the water, Follow the
drinking Gourd and "back of the bus ". Do you think it is inappropriate
subject wise as in too mature for 3rd graders? We have been talking
about the songs and their secret messages, and they are fascinated.
