    Wow! That's a really difficult concept to learn! Honestly, I
    have to say that I don't teach that concept to 2nd grade
    because their reading skills aren't usually fast enough to keep
    up with music that has that written in it. Usually DS al fine
    is seen in longer songs.

    For me, I use the Music Express magazines, and I teach the
    concept to 4th and 5th graders -- with my major concentration
    on 5th grade because in 6th grade they will go into middle
    school where they will be looking at choral music.

    My advice, I would teach that concept to your older kids, and
    with 2nd grade, I would really concentrate on the repeat sign
    and what it means. So often, you see the DS al fine with a
    repeat sign somewhere, so concentrate on that first. But,
    that's just my opinion.

    Hopefully, someone on this board has a great idea of teaching
    that concept to younger children! You picked a great place to ask!
