Let's say I'm teaching my students twinkle Little Star on recorder. I
purposely wrote it using a DC al fine because it helps with form, with the
concept dc al fine and saves space. In the song we play the A section, then
the B and because of the DC al Fine, we go back to the beginning and end at
the fine. It's just one easy and awesome way to help teach or review that
concept. Any song in ABA form could be done like this. This is not DS al
fine, because I agree that can be taught at an older age in band or choir.
The students do remember this the next time I show them dc al fine.
