Oh, Josie, I am SO excited for you! Having your own room, with
or without its little built-in hassles, will seem like a dream
    come true, believe me!

Seating: I have my K-3 on the floor, and 4-6 on chairs
(usually, unless we're going to do some movement that needs
space, or I'm doubling a class for some reason). I seat them
BOY-GIRL-BOY-GIRL in *all* grade levels .. solves a lot of
problems right off the bat! I get the regular teacher to give
me input such as "oh, you don't want those two that close to
each other". I usually do seating charts the SECOND week of
    class.

Entrance/exit: My kids come in quietly (usually), find their
assigned place, remain standing (or are supposed to; this
school is still learning that) for the opening song and
    patriotic song.

Instrument procedures: Have the instruments you're planning to
    use out and ready.

Keep your rules to about 5 for simplicity. Refer to some of
the Wong stuff on teachers.net for some good ideas - can't
    remember mine at the moment!

Practice procedures but don't overdo it. Just explain to the
kids, things change a little bit with the new room. They'll
    go with it.

    More later!
