	Post: My choice: teach library too, or be half-time Posted by Confus Ed. in WA on 5/08/08 In a perfect world, we'd all be full-time music teachers!! But... Our music program is going back to half-time next year, and to maintain my full-time contract they want to make me a half-time librarian too. I have no qualifications for this nor a huge desire to do it. My other choice is to opt to be half-time. This would be my choice; the district can't push me to do this of course. My wife and I are planning to start our family soon, so half-time would actually be kind of nice since we could split at-home duties. BUT I drop down the totem pole and later in my career it would mean having to reapply for any full-time positions. What do y'all think? Job safety and more hassle getting time off to be with a child, or time off but less safe future prospects? Anyone do half library? Is it fun?
