Sometimes, the "half time" could be two full days a week,then you could be free to do many things. Could you be half time with full benefits? That would be a plum perk. My sister and her husband worked different shifts and their kids rarely went to daycare or afterschool program, as one parent was always at home. That worked for them. At one school (K-12, very small)--We had a credentialed librarian...only during library hrs did she get paid the right wage. She was a teacher's aide the rest of the day at about $6 per hour. It was the choice she made to work in the district closest to her home....just make sure they aren't trying to cut too many corners on you.
