Post: Can I vent?

Posted by Lindsey on 5/16/08

It's been one of those kinda days today. This morning, I
was on my way to work. I would have made it there with
plenty of time to spare, but I got pulled over. The cop
clocked my car BEFORE it was in the school zone and then
wrote me a ticket for speeding. He takes his sweet time
doing it, so by the time I have my ticket and I'm on my
    way, I'm late for work.

I get to work, where I'm expecting to see the stage with
risers on it so that I can rehearse with kids first thing
in the morning for the program that we have coming up on
Tuesday. The custodians had only set up 3 sections of the
risers........ and I'm putting 3 entire grade levels on
the stage for this program! Granted, many of the kids
won't be on risers, but I still needed ALL of the risers
set up if everyone was going to fit.

So, I go beg and plead with the head custodian to get it
fixed, and he does it by himself (bless him). Then, the
technology that I'm using for the program won't work.
Turns out the s-video cable that I have had been crimped
at some point, so the wires inside were broken. I'll have
to go buy a new one this weekend. Well, we wing it with
out the technology, and rehearsals go pretty well.

Kindergarten is gone on a field trip, so I had some extra
time to start dealing with the ticket. There is a date to
appear in court and a court address, but no phone number.
I want to take defensive driving rather than pay the
ticket, which I can do under Texas law. The ticket says
that to do that, I have to mail in a form requesting def.
driving, but gives absolutely no clues as to how to find
said form. After hunting around on the internet, I finally
found the form. They apparently want it sent by certified
mail (annoying, but fine...whatever), and want me to get a
copy of my driving record from the state. BUT, again....
no instructions about how to go about this. No phone
numbers, no addresses, nothing. I'll have to do another
hunt on the internet to find it. I guess it's a good thing
I'm not living in poverty without access to a computer, or
I'd really be sunk right about now.

I'd say that today was a 2 margarita day, but I'm pregnant
so I can't even do that. Sigh. Maybe chocolate will make
    it better.
