Post: Adaptive PE
Posted by Paco on 9/10/07
This year I accepted a job in a self-contained school with
several distinct populations: autistic, MR, ED and
student who use wheelchairs. I could use some advice a PE
activities and resources for students who are severely
disabled and basically non-verbal. I want to provide a
variety for them and the aides throughout the year.
Generally I'm not talking about adapting my class for team
sports (such as using a beach ball for a volleyball,
etc). It seems like I almost need to be a physical
therapist some of the time.
