Jordan,
When I had this problem with middle school kids, I would
send them to the library to do a report on a magazine
article that had to do with pe or health issues. They
completed it during that period and handed it in at the end
of class. That way they got patial credit for the class
instead of a zero. However, a couple times lowered grades.
It also lowered the number of kids missing class...for the
most part. They were no longer allowed to sit on the
sidelines and harass the others (or me).
