Re: How to be a teacher and still have a life?
    Posted by Amy on 6/25/08

I am a high school teacher, but I have a very close friend who
teaches elementary. I admire the enormous energy and time that
she puts into her work. It is very difficult for all of us to
find a balance between school and family. Maybe that's why
the stereotypical "old maid schoolteacher"? :)

Just a thought: I may be treading on sacred ground here, but
I have never understood the need to change bulletin boards,
and do all the myriad of cute visual displays in the primary
classroom. Yes, they are appealing to the female eye, but do
they really make that much difference in the educational
achievement of the students? Could you not use one bulletin
board display to last the entire year? Would this not save at
least some time in the week?
