Our school is hurting for students and we try to help struggling
students every way we can. However, I have one boy on academic
probation for the fall. He failed most of his subjects on his
last report card. The main issue is the parents. They did not
have any follow through on any of the suggestions we gave to
help him. They excused him not doing homework as "it takes him
too long." He is a low student, and he was tested by the public
school system, but the parents never followed through on getting
results. The boy is so sweet, but unless there is some change
for next year, we will have to consider dropping him.
