Re: Ashford University- 1st class

Sean, The people that are called from the admission advisors are people who put in a request for information from Ashford. Either via direct from the AU website, or through another online education inquiry. Boiler room is quite extreme to describe the work enviornment at the corportate office for AU. The office building is very well kept up, contemporary, with plenty of space for each individual. Recently (2006) AU met with the HLC (Higher Learning Commission) to get approved for further accredidation. When a school is approved for accredidation the HLC will give a timeframe in which they need to come back to re-evaluate. This timeframe can be anywhere from 2 years (very bad) or beyond 10 years (very good). The HLC after meeting with advisors, executive staff, and going over AU'S curriculum agreed to meet again with AU in 10 years to discuss further accredidation. This is direct proof that the HLC, along with the Dept of Ed respect, and honor AU. A person cant buy a company along with buying accredidation and expect the school to last through the evaluations. AU is doing something right to be Regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. You were probably horrible at your job, and that is why you left. Also, i would recommend looking at the retention numbers, as well as grad rates. Dont taint other peoples idea of recieving a quality education by your bad experience as a bad employee.
