Re: Ashford University- 1st class
Posted by Jon on 3/26/08

I have been a student at Ashford for about a year. I have had 4
different Academic Advisors during that time period, which I thought
was a little odd. So far, I have a 3.94 GPA but do not feel that I
am getting a great education. I have not bought a book since class
#2 and have still managed to get an A. I have tried from time to
time to contact people at Ashford but never get a return phone
call. I don't think there is any scam going on but I do think
because Ashford is a for profit school the education does suffer a
little. I really like my professors and as I said before, the
classes are nice but you don't have to buy a book, everything is on
the net, you just have to know where to look for it. Even the
answers to the quizzes are online. I called my local university,
Akron U. and they said that they would accept credits from Ashford,
so to me that says they are accredited and the degree should be a
good one. I think things could be better at Ashford but I am not
ready to throw them under the bus just yet.
