Two Ladies and Justice

One day as I strolled upon green grassy field,

A vision appeared from over the hill:

A beautiful woman before me did stand;

A pair of golden scales in her hand.

Blindfolded she stood there

And spoke words to me:

"You'll be my eyes, Son,

For I cannot see!

"My Son, you've been called;

Me you did not choose;

For I chose you, Son,

And I chose you to use.

"For my name is 'Justice'

And I'll work through you;

If my mission's accomplished,

It's for you to do.

"For all men are equal

In the eyes of the law.

Your motto shall be

'Equal justice for all!'

"'Justice tempered with mercy'

Shall be your command.

You'll carry this message

Throughout all the land.

"The message to spread

At home and o'er sea,

Telling...See More
