Re: Crafting Writers, Chapter 1

I agree with many of you who have posted. When I first
started using 6 traits I felt that helped me get focused
with more specifics. But, over time, I have started feeling
this wasn't quite specific enough, or something has happened
to me, like I need a fresh look. So, it could just be new
language, the specifics of the lessons she mentions, but
like I said earlier, I see it as something to add to all I
have learned about writing. Like DC, I loved the dinner
scene as well. I love to have those kind of things to hang
on when thinking about writing.
Stacey, glad you joined us. I am from Florida as well, so I
look forward to hearing about your ideas on writing as a
Florida teacher. I have Fletcher's Boy Writers as Well and
really need to read that this summer. I have a group of boy
writers that I will be looping with who fit what he
describes perfectly, I saw him speak about it last summer.
One example of a story they wrote this year: Little Red
Riding Hood, A Little More Red, talk about boy writers, UGH!
Quite descriptive, like the original!
