Re: Crafting Writers, Chapter 1

I'm going to read along online. I was intrigued by your posts
and read Chapter 1 online late last night and I would have to
say 'ditto' to everyone who has posted.
I will just add that I loved how she explained the evolution of
her thought on writing instruction - how having to teach other
teachers forced her to identify, explain . . . the things she
knew intuitively and had been using in writing conferences for
some time previously. It just underscores the importance
of 'discussion' in our own growth as professionals, as it is
clear that communicating our ideas is as beneficial to the
speaker/writer as it is to the reader/listener.
So, despite the fact that I am very excited about having just
received my copies of 'Study Driven' and 'The Literacy Coach's
Handbook', I'm going to read 'Crafting Writers' because it
feels like a very important book - one that I will want to have
in hard copy very soon.
