What I found, though, was that I became so engrossed in the details of the story that I didn't notice the writing after a while. I'm not saying this is a good thing, but that I did learn a lot about the politics of the region in a different way from reading about it in the newspaper, and I'm still feeling in awe of what he's accomplished.
