Re: Three Cups of Tea

I read the book some time ago and actually wrote a review
of it for T.net Gazette. Like most of the others here, I
found it to be very enlightening and thought-provoking. If
one person can make such at diference perhaps if we, as a
nation or as private institutions, had spent money for
schools in Afghanistan, we may have avoided the mess we
currently witness there.
I've read several books by authors who don't have highly
honed writing skills and, if I can get past some of the
poor writing, I can enjoy tremendous stories. I didn't
think Mortenson's writing was THAT awful. I found it to be
easy reading. Writing in third person (and having a co-
author) reduced what might have been a tendency to brag
about accomplishments. We need to give him credit for
describing the tremendous work he did.
Just my opinion,
Grace
