Posted by brad on 8/29/08 Gee, sioux, if I knew the answer to that question, I think I'd be a millionaire and be sitting on the sunny beaches of Hawaii instead of typing on my computer...This is the eternal question, no? For real, though, what you say is that "it's working" because test scores are good and you meet AYP....and that is far far far ahead of where most of us are. But you might consider a few things: 1. What is a "good" test score? ARe you talking 75%, 80? 90? THere's always room for improvement. 2. You may be passing the test, but are students ENJOYING learning? If it's all drill and kill just to pass the test, and kids hate to come to school, then that says just as much to me as students who don't do well on the test, but at least enjoy learning and being at school.
