Post: Research on Beginning Reading
I'm posting because I'm collaborating on a research project
devoted to exploring the generalizations/guidelines taught
to beginning readers. As you know there's been quite a bit
of research devoted to advocating particular classroom
practices, but much less on what's actually being used in
the classroom by teachers of all kinds. If you're involved
in beginning reading instruction, we're hoping you might be
willing to help us out by taking a moment to fill out a
short anonymous, online survey at:
https://survey.uiowa.edu/wsb.dll/227/ReadingSurvey01.htm.
The survey doesn't gather any identifying information about
particular individuals or schools, and will be used only
for academic research purposes -- the preparation of an
article for publication in an academic journal. If you are
interested in the results, we are happy to make them
available, and will post a notice and link when the results
are all in. The survey was created by Mark Andrejevic
(University of Iowa) and Helen Andrejevic. If you have any
questions about the survey, the researchers can be reached
at readingsurvey01@gmail.com.
Thanks so much for your time and assistance -- and please
feel free to circulate this link to other colleagues who
might be interested.
Sincerely,
Mark Andrejevic, Department of Communication Studies
