Post: IEP Senior student needs help
 Jen Posted on 9/29/09
My son (a Senior)was diagnosed with a learning disability
in the 6th grade. He has over come a lot of that
disability. He has learned to read and comprehend, but
still has trouble remembering how to spell the simplest of
words. He will spell a word EXACTLY as it sound. Example:
the word while he would spell wile, cough = cof, etc. He
has a real problem remembering things, even after they have
been repeated to him numerous times. Does anyone have any
suggestions of what I can do to help him study to correct
his problem. Software, etc. I do not want my son to become
just another statistic of a child pushed through the school
system unable to spell as and adult.
