Hi! If you use Words Their Way for spelling, I'm wondering how you grade the weekly spelling test. Is it just in a traditional way, 1 point for every word? Or do you have them sort the words on the test, and therefore give a second point for correct sort placement? Or do you only look for them to spell the word using the correct pattern, not taking off a point if they misspell a different part of the word? If you use "transfer words," what point value do you give for them?

Our entire district adopted this program, but grading spelling tests has become an issue. Just wondering what has worked for others. Thanks for any help you can offer! -Liz
