Re: Does it ever worry you to working alone with a child?

    My room faces the top of the stairs where classes come and go
    constantly and it is by no means silent passage. Although my
    door is usually "shut" the doorknob thing isn't engaged so my
    room is far from silent. There is a classroom immediately
    adjacent to mine and students often work at a table just
    outside my door. If I can at least cut out the visual
    distractions it helps immensely. Our students must learn to
    work with distractions and mine have plenty to deal with.
    Besides, it sounds like this is the type of student who would
    make a fuss whether your door was nailed shut or you were
    teaching in the middle of the gym. I am sorry you must make
    this difficult decision.
