In my opinion, it is a great curriculum. Scholastic doesn't market it as a SPED curriculum that I know of, and our school uses it as a reading intervention for kids who are below grade level. It is high interest, low level stuff, and the kids appreciate the structure and routine that is built into it. While it is an expensive investment, I would recommend committing to buying as much of the program as you can and implementing it as closely as you can to the way that Scholastic recommends. It's a great research based model, and I have really enjoyed using it. Most importantly, I have seen kids respond really well to the intervention and make huge leaps in a school year - sometimes almost up to grade level. They enjoy it, too! Three thumps up!!
