Post: After Bluford Series

Posted by Splinters on 4/30/08

I posted this question on the middle school board as well.

I've got a small group of readers in a class who are
significantly below grade level in reading. They worked up
from primer level texts (last year) to the Bluford Series
this year and they are now reading the Bluford books
independently. As they race through this set, absolutely
delighted with themselves, I am beginning to wonder what
    might come next.

Is there another series that works well with fairly new
middle school readers? They would be reading both in class
and at home, so it can't be a huge jump up in readability
    from the Bluford Series.

    Thanks!
