There is not one test to use to determine dyslexia. I would
highly recommend that you get a copy of Sally Shaywitz's book,
Overcoming Dyslexia, which was published about 5-8 years ago,
I think. It's a great, and pretty readable, text that covers
common signs and symptoms for various ages as well as
recommended interventions. She does list a variety of tests
that are used to help make the diagnosis. Unfortunately, my
copy is at school and not accessible until next week.
Some of the things you might want to look at are his language
skills and word attack skills (such as reading nonsense
words), as well as reading fluency. Is spelling also an area
of weakness?
