Rod,
First, find out what the reading problems are... Each kid will
have different issues, but knowing these different strengths and
weaknesses will allow you to plan which areas to prioritize.
Then, you can find the curriculum to match student needs.
I have a whole set of free reading and spelling assessments,
along with answer keys and recording matrices at
http://www.penningtonpublishing.com/blog and they are whole-
class multiple choice format. Easy to give and easy to grade.
