Re: What would you do to combat this thinking?
Posted by cam on 5/08/08

It seems that my post has gone off in a direction that is providing
a forum for other posters to present political views.
Perhaps it was the bi-line of "combative thinking" that has caused
this, when I was actually just looking for advice on how to handle
her disruptions. I was not, and am not, trying to "correct" her
thinking. This is a child who talks out just to do so, and tries to
get a rise out of her classmates. Mostly they just ignore her, but
at a point I do need to step in. That is the role of the teacher, at
least where I come from. I suppose if I were to comment on some of
the responses I'd have to say that my major concern is that she is
willing to "buy - hook, line and sinker" what she hears possibly
second and third hand at home. Nice that she wants to listen to her
mother, but that's another entire can of worms that I don't wish to
    open.
