    If you're a standards-based school, you'd use the textbook
    that aligns most closely with those standards, I suppose. I
    don't use textbooks at all as I think they get in the way of
    learning. Choose the textbook with the least amount of
    sidebars and bubbles if you have to use a textbook. Choose
    the textbook with the least dry writing, the least stilted
    sentences. Most textbooks are not written in a style of
    writing that has meaning for kids.
