Read "The Great Fuzz Frenzy" by Janet Stevens. Click the
link below for some pictures from the book. A dog drops a
tennis ball down into a prairie dog hole and the prairie dogs
try to figure out what is going on and what to do with the
yellow stuff. Really cute book. It has beautiful artwork
showing the underground habitat. I hear that it has a video
    but have never seen it.

I teach 5th grade Science and I always use it to introduce
habitats and adaptation. They love it! I have to keep the
book on my touch table after reading it because they all want
to look at it over and over again.
