    Post: All that content!!
    Posted by: Dee on 10/29/09

I find that it is difficult to keep a good balance of
content instruction and exploration. I am a 1st year
science teacher and feel very frustrated that so much
content is in the 4th grade curriculum with so many
vocabulary words for the children to learn (and understand).
Most of the children in my class are below average readers
and putting upon them vocabulary words that are above their
level has been difficult. And while I would like to make it
hands-on, I don't have enough time with them to work on
experiments (the ones that are tied with the text is not
that great. Any suggestions/ideas that have worked with you
    to make science more fun?
