Hi, Does anyone have any suggestions on teaching money to 2nd graders? I've had difficulty year after year. Specifically, I'm wondering what everyone has done in terms of supplementing textbooks with other things. (counting, equivalent amounts, using fewest coins, calculating change, buying and prices) Thanks in advance!

Judy2/CA I had a set of coin stamps. I used them to stamp the coins on unlined index cards. Then each student got several cards with a variety of coins. They cut out the coins(not around each coin but more like a square around the coin so they could be seen easily) and kept them in a sandwich baggie and stored them in their pencil boxes or in their desk.
