Re: Using Pocket PC in classroom
Posted by Donna on 4/19/08
It's a Palm Pilot. I use gradekeeper as my electronic gradebook and it has the palm pilot set up in that program. I think it's www.gradekeeper.com. When I get home, I just do a quick uplink to my computer and presto grades done! Don't tell my district but I no longer keep a paper grade book. When grading hw for completion, I walk around the room withit and check it off on my pda. It is also nice because once I link to computer it updates the students grade average and holds everything like the computer. What am I missing just a few clicks and I can tell them. Plus I am a traveling teacher, so I don't really have access to computer at school. Hubby got it for me on e-bay. Favorite x-mas present EVER! I thought I would take notes during the day but in reality seldom do. I do however, note when a telepone a parent since I use it to look up #'s anyway. Putting abreviated IEP info is also a life saver. Quick peek before I walk into a parent meeting and I'm on top of any accomidation. Also, used it ALOT at beginning of year (HS teacher) when I was still fuzzy on who was who and who needed what.
