    This does not totally address your question but my daughter
    has her math book on a CD. The textbook stays in the
    classroom. You are not able to print from the CD textbook so
    that means she has to be in front of the computer when she is
    doing her math homework. It is not an ideal setup. It ties
    up one of the two computers that we have at home. She has to
    be by the computer when she is doing her homework. The
    computer takes up most of the room on the desk so it is not a
    good place for her to do her work.

    They have the books on CD so that the students do not have to
    carry home a heavy textbook.
