Post: What to do with advanced students?
This year, we made Spanish I available to 7-12th grade.
This year I have four students that had me last year in
Middle School Spanish, and they are bored to death. They
are super excited about learning, they are doing
powerpoints for me for future chapters, but practically do
not need my instruction for probably another month or so.
What do you do with students that are so advanced and want
to learn more, but it is difficult to differentiate when I
have more students in the class? I have thought about
giving them a topic to teach, but they usually teach the
concept and it goes directly over my students heads. Any
suggestions? I really do not want these students to get
bored and they need things to do. THe next chapter we go to
are school objects, location, color, verbs such as
necesitar, etc. The students don't need the practice over
this. They are speaking in complete sentences and use
Spanish frequently. Any ideas?
