    patinar sobre hielo. It's the one our textbook
    series uses (¡En Español!) and is the one I am familiar with.
    If the context is clear, one could just say: patinar.

    Here's the results I got from the RAE's corpi:

    The CORDE didn't come up with anything for "patinar en
    hielo." I would assume that "patinar sobre hielo" is the most
    common form.
