Post: ACTION RESEARCH PROJECT ON SPANISH EDUCATION

    Jennifer Roman

    Posted on 11/05/09

I am writing an action research paper where I will be
researching how effective bilingual education is and how
spanish education is valued in our country. I need opinions
from teachers and was hoping you could help me. Below are
ten questions that will be beneficial for my paper in order
to see what spanish teachers feel on the topic. I
appreciate your help and time if you could answer and email
    your answers to these questions!!!

    1. When is the first time in school that you took a foreign
language class? How many years did you further your
education in this language? Would you say you are
proficient in another language you learned in the
classroom? 2. Do you remember foreign language class being
more or less interesting than your mainstream classes and
why? 3. If you could have taken a foreign language class
earlier in your education, would you have taken advantage
of this opportunity and why? 4. Do you think that bilingual
education is more effective in terms of learning both
languages better than a regular foreign language classroom?
Explain. 5. Do you believe that bilingual education is
affective for all students? Only ESL students? Why? 6.
Should foreign language instruction be introduced early in
a student's education and if so, how early preschool,
kindergarten, or elementary school and why? 7. Do you think
it is an advantage to know another language, if so what
language do you think is most important and why? 8. Even
though we live in a multicultural country, also known as
the melting pot, do you think that our education system
reflects the interests of our country by only valuing that
our people speak English and not pursuing more the
education of a foreign language and why? 9. Do you believe
that for future generations, knowing another language could
help solve global problems and help fight against
terrorism? Explain. 10. Do you think Spanish could become
the new English in the United States. Explain.

Thank you very much for completing these questions.
