Sra. R I like to say you guys, and I have a picture of the Sloth from the Goonies hanging in my classroom and he is shouting Ustedes!!!! to help the students remember.

kjpalm I also use all of you as I consider this much more formal
than y'all. I use y'all for vosotros. I'm based in NY and
y'all sounds like something you'd say to friends and never
in a business or formal environment.

Jennifer I really like your point about using "y'all" for vosotros. Not only does it convey the informality, both are used mostly in specific regions - not as widespread as "you" or "ustedes". I use y'all for ustedes because I also teach the vosotros forms, and I use you guys or you girls from Spain for vosotros/as. I explain to my students that y'all means "all of you, plural."
