Hola a todos, I'm going to try letting my students in the kitchens this year. I did this when I was student teaching but with just one class. Now I have 5 classes of 24-30 students so running things well is more important.

Has anyone done this before? Can you tell me what you learned, or what you would cook, how did you do it? I'm considering doing Spanish tortillas or horchata.

¡Gracias!

YPena We cooked empanadas. Discos congelados Goya, uno para cada estudiante. Traje la carne hecha y le ponía una cucharada a cada uno. Ellos la sellaban con un tenedor y despues las traian al sartén. Yo tenia un PowerPoint con los pasos de la receta.

glorialagos Yes. My students switched rooms with the FACS students and we made Spanish tortillas.

Students could choose group members - 4 to a group. Each group member brought ingredients. We cooked and then ate. It was a very popular day!

Sra. M. I love cooking day. We also trade with the FAC room. I divide the kids into groups. Each group cooks just one recipe and shares it with the class. I buy all the food and charge the kids $3. We make Tortilla espanola, empanadas (from maseca dough and cheese)Alfajores and dulce de leche, and a few other things.
