Sorry but it IS a big deal. This para did not merely make
a "mistake". The para willfully ignored the expressed wishes of
the parent then outright lied to the OP and the swim teacher.
This behavior, from an adult, is unacceptable.
I would have had that para in the office in front of the prince
that day.
There are other stated issues in play here - repeatedly leaving
the classroom to smoke - repeatedly using personal cell phone
during class hours.
Either one of those is grounds for disciplinary action if not
dismissal.
OP - as far as calling this person and "trying to work it out"
goes - mistake - that is putting you on the defensive for her
screw up.
