Do any special education teachers out there feel like their general education "collegues" do not respect them? Are you left out of all the social activities or found to have no friends on your campus?
lots of respect here It does not matter to me what the degree is in, it matters if the individual is intelligent, utilizes best practices and is easy to work with this determines if they get my respect or not. spec It has been my experience, working as a high school sped teacher, that most of my colleagues who I would consider "friends" come from either the sped department, and/or the gen ed department that I interact with the most. Beth Special Needs I feel like the Sped teachers are respected at my school. Our opinions are sought out. We are called upon to take on leadership roles and to assist gen ed teachers with struggling students.As far as friends and social events at my school,they usually break down along age groups.
