Basically, my critiques were that I didn't plan far ahead in
advance, my pacing for lessons was off, I didn't work at
fostering relationships with parents (although I called homes
and spoke to some), I didn't know the content well enough to
teach (because I said once that one of my favorite YAL books
was Holes, and because I had to prep a lot for grammar)I
didn't seem passionate about teaching, needed to work on my
communication (with CT's), and there was one class that I had
trouble managing. Because of my introverted personality, I was
also told that I seemed "angry," and that I should have fun.
When I lightened up, I was told that I wasn't strict enough.
In short, there were other things going on at the school that
caused them to not ask me back, which I later found out.
Anyway, all of the above are normal issues that every teacher
faces and I don't feel that they were appropriate grounds to
tell me that I can't teach.
