I spent one year subbing in 2005-2006 and packed it in as I couldn't stand the uncertain nature of being a sub. But now I'm married and my wife just started a new career which she loves, so I figure I better start pulling my weight and get my career back on track. I need to update my reference letters though. I spent my last year as an undergrad with another student teacher in the same classroom. She has spent 4 years in England teaching various subjects. Should I ask her for a letter of reference even though we were both student teachers when we worked together? I could really use a new reference.
